김영민 교수님의 베니스 대학교(IUAV) 특강 소식

명지대학교 건축대학의 김영민 교수님께서 2026년 1월 9일(금) 이탈리아 베니스 대학교(IUAV)에서 “Hanok and Structural Planning in Architecture”라는 주제로 특강을 하였습니다. 본 특강에는 베니스 건축대학의 Andrea Iorio 교수님을 비롯한 석사과정 학생 50여명이 참석하였습니다.
명지대학교 건축대학은 베니스 대학교와 오래 전부터 국제교류협력을 하고 있으며, 특히 2025년부터는 베니스 대학교가 EU의 지원을 받아 수행하고 있는 IUAV 프로젝트인 "이탈리아-동아시아 협력: 현지 전문성에서 글로벌 전망까지(LEGO)” 에 참여하고 있습니다. 이 국제협력 프로젝트의 일환으로 2026년 1월에 명지대학교 건축대학의 김영민 교수님께서 베니스 건축대학의 방문교수로 초청을 받아 특강 및 공동 크리틱 등 국제교류협력 활동을 하고 있으며, 이번 특강은 그 활동의 일환입니다. 특강 이후에는 베니스 건축대학의 Andrea Iorio 교수님의 국제 설계 스튜디오에서 학생들의 설계 작품에 대한 공동 크리틱을 실시하였습니다.
명지대학교 건축대학은 베니스 대학교를 비롯하여 세계 각국의 많은 대학교 및 기관과 국제교류협력 활동을 하고 있으며, 이러한 활동을 지속적으로 유지 확대하여 국제적 감각을 갖춘 설계전문인력 양성에 계속 앞장서 나갈 것입니다.

Special Lecture by Professor Yeongmin Kim at Università Iuav di Venezia
On Friday, January 9, 2026, Professor Yeongmin Kim of the College of Architecture at Myongji University delivered a special lecture entitled “Hanok and Structural Planning in Architecture” at the Università Iuav di Venezia (IUAV).
The lecture was attended by approximately 50 graduate students, including Professor Andrea Iorio of the Venice School of Architecture.
The College of Architecture at Myongji University has maintained a long-standing academic collaboration with IUAV. Since 2025, Myongji University has been participating in the EU-supported IUAV project “Italy–East Asia Cooperation: From Local Expertise to Global Outlook (LEGO).”
As part of this international cooperation framework, Professor Yeongmin Kim was invited as a Visiting Professor to the Venice School of Architecture in January 2026, engaging in various academic exchange activities such as special lectures and joint design critiques. The present lecture was conducted within this context.
Following the lecture, a joint critique session was held in Professor Andrea Iorio’s international design studio, where student design projects were reviewed and discussed collaboratively.
Myongji University highly values its academic partnership with IUAV and looks forward to further strengthening international collaboration through continued exchanges in education, research, and design studios.
