명지대학교 건축학 교육프로그램은 국내최초건축인증 프로그램이며 국내 최초의 독립단과대학 (건축대학) 체제이다. 건축분야 최대규모의 교수진을 보유하고 있으며 (겸임교수 포함 70여명) 다양한 전공분야의 전임교수진을 자랑하고 있다.

건축공학과가 없는 건축학교육 전문 프로그램으로 인적 물적 역량의 집중이 가능하며, 선택과목의 다양함과 동시에 심화전공 가능한 교과체계를 갖추고 있다. 또한 설계스튜디오 선택제, 다양한 해외프로그램 운영, 졸업설계스튜디오 특화를 모두 갖춘 건축학 프로그램은 유일하다고 할 수 있다. 또한 건축대학 내 건축학전공, 전통건축전공, 공간디자인전공 등 다방면의 교과과정을 이수할 수 있다.

풍부한 전문도서를 소유한 건축과 전용 정보열람실 또한 자랑이며, 다양한 장비 구비 (레이져커터, 3D 프린터, 3D 스캐너, 목공실) 및 24시간 오픈 독립건축스튜디오 건물을 소유한 미래를 위한, 미래에 대비한 건축학 프로그램이라고 할 수 있다.

Professional Architectural Program of CAMU, College of Architecture, Myongji University is one of the first nation's accredited program by KAAB (Korea Architecture Accrediting Board). The Myongji University is the first institution in the nation to house Architecture discipline as separate college, to guarantee its independence from engineering discipline and to promote interdisciplinary vision. The CAMU possesses the largest number of architectural faculty members and student body in the nation.

Due to the largest volume of program students and faculty members, the program is capable of offering variety of course subjects of the fields unlike any other architecture programs in the nation. The CAMU is also offering opportunities of “international study programs”, which are co-operated under official agreements with flagship architecture schools from Venice, Rome of Italy and New York City. In addition, the CAMU is the first and only institution to offer professionally accredited Korean Architecture Program in the nation.

The nation’s best on-site architectural library & information center, state-of-the-arts modeling equipment (3D modeler, laser cutter) center, individual studio spaces for each student 24/7 are only a portion of robust resources available to all students with any challenging minds.

명지대학교 건축대학 인증

명지대학교 건축대학 건축학부의 건축학사 학위는 한국건축학교육인증원(KAAB)이 제시하는 인증규준을 준수하고 건축학교육 전문학위 인증을 취득한 프로그램으로서, 캔버라협약(Canberra Accord) 인증기관들과 유네스코-세계건축가연맹(UNESCO-UIA) 건축학교육인증기구(UVCAE)가 동시에 인정하는 전문학위 프로그램이다. 인증 받은 건축학교육 전문학위 취득을 등록 건축사의 필수 자격 요건으로 명시하고 있으며, 이것은 국제적 추세이다. (www.kaab.or.kr 참조) 국내 건축학교육 전문학위 과정은 교육기관의 선택에 의해 5년제 전문학위 학부과정 또는 2년제 이상의 전문학위 석사과정으로 운영되며, 지속적 인증유지를 위해 정기적으로 인증심사를 받아야 한다. 한국건축학교육인증원은 인증규준을 바탕으로 정기적 인증심사를 수행하며, 결과에 따라 5년 인증, 3년 인증, 조건부 2년 인증, 인증유예 및 거부 판정을 받을 수 있다. 명지대학교 건축대학 건축학부의 건축학사 학위의 다음 인증심사는 2022년도에 실시될 예정이다.

Educational Goal & Mission Statement

명지대학교 건축학부의 교육목표의 중심가치는 실무지향형 전문가 양성이다. 현실 속에 유용한 인력을 배출한다는 실사구시적 가치 추구는 건축학부의 교육목표로서 지속될 것이다.

건축학부의 건축학교육 프로그램은 인문학을 비롯한 폭넓은 교양과 지식을 겸비한 통섭형 인재가 요구되는 최근의 사회적 동향과 2014년에 이루어진 학부 편제 개편을 계기로, 2015학년도부터 교양 영역의 교과 구성을 개편하고 인문, 사회, 문화예술 및 과학기술 분야를 아우르는 핵심교양 교과를 강화하여, 폭넓은 교양과 전문지식을 갖춘 국제적 실무 전문가로서 우리 시대의 사회적 책임에 부응하는 ‘르네상스형 건축가 및 디자이너’ 양성을 건축학교육 프로그램 목표로 설정하다. 그리고 다음과 같은 세부 목표를 두고 있다.

1. 통합형 전문가 양성: 인문학과 자연과학을 통합적으로 이해하는 인재

Educational Goal & Mission Statement

The prime educational goal of the architecture division at Myongji University is to foster individuals with comprehensive knowledge and practical capabilities to meet the contemporary challenges of the architectural profession. Through the reformation of the architecture division in 2014, area of general studies supporting core understanding of the comprehensive field has been enforced. 'Educating Architects & Designers for the 21st Century Renaissance' is the Mission Statement of the architecture division of Myongji University.

Further educational goal includes the following specialty :

1. Specialized in Commending Comprehensive Capability - Capable of commending appropriate knowledge in both Humanities and Science-Engineering field.
2. Specialized in Practical Capabilities - Capable of commending concrete knowledge and skills of the real-world environment.
3. Specialized in Cultural Aspect - Individuals of cultural, historic knowledge not only in Korean but aspects of the world.
4. Specialized in Global Needs - Individuals equipped with knowledge and skills of the global challenges and cooperations.

명지대 건축대학의 건축교육은 건축과 도시환경에 대한 종합적인 이해와 국제적 수준의 전문능력을 갖춘 실사구시형 건축가 육성을 목적으로 한다. 이는 현재 한국사회가 당면한 건축교육의 과제에 초점을 맞추면서, 창조적인 전문인, 더불어 사는 환경을 지향하는 사회인, 세계와 함께 호흡하는 세계인의 양성이라는 명지대학교의 교육목적을 건축교육을 통해 완성시키고자 하는 것이다.

학과 설치 40년 역사를 갖고 있는 건축 분야는 기술에 대한 종합적인 이해를 바탕으로 한 실사구시형 건축가 육성을 교육목표로 하여 왔다. 이제 건축설계 교육 중심으로 개편된 건축대학에서 학생들은 창의적인 사고력 향상과 사회 문화에 대한 이해 및 조형감각 훈련, 건축 역사, 도시 환경을 비롯하여 환경 기술, CAD, 구조, 시공 등 건축학 전반에 걸쳐 폭넓은 전문지식을 습득할 수 있는 종합적인 교육과정을 거치게 된다. 이를 바탕으로 건축설계 실무, 건축개발 및 사업기획, 국가 공공기관의 건축 관련 업무 등 다양한 분야에서 그 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 양질의 건축가로 육성될 것이다.

명지대학교 건축학과는 2003년부터 교육인적자원부로부터 전문설계인력양성 프로그램으로 특성화 우수대학에 선발에 3년 연속 선정되어 정부로부터 약 50억원에 가까운 재원을 지원받기도 하였으며, 2007년도에 한국건축학교육인증원(KAAB)으로부터 서울대, 서울시립대와 함께 국내에서 최초로 3대 전문학위 인증프로그램으로 선정됨으로서 명실공히 국내 최고의 건축교육 기관으로 인정받게 되었다.

명지대학교 건축대학은 건축과 도시환경에 대한 종합적인 이해와 국제적 수준의 전문능력을 갖춘 실사구시형 건축가 육성을 궁극적 목표로 하고 있다.

Architecture program of CAMU aims fostering responsive individuals possess adequate professional skills and knowledge in Architecture to improve built environment for the realm of global community. Trained global individuals will be acknowledged by their creative professional skills, mentoring society for built environment of common wealth.

Past over 40 years of history in educating Architecture, the school has been emphasizing base knowledge for complex interrelationships within architectural fields, for trained individuals in creative and critical thinking. The artful array of theoretical studies to technical training, the school has set its programs to maximize comprehensive architectural educations to sponsor advance interests for wide variety of related professions and community.

Recently, architecture program of CAMU has awarded University Specialization Grant for 3-years in a row from year 2003 by the government. In addition, the program has been awarded as one of the first three professional architectural accredited programs by KAAB (Korea Architectural Accreditation Board) in the year 2007.

The College of Architecture of Myongji University aims at educating students to become respected professional architects armed with comprehensive knowledge in architecture and urban design as well as skills meeting the needs of global community.
